After graduating law school, Mr. Funk joined the King County Prosecuting Attorney's office and served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. Mr. Funk represented county agencies and school districts in personal injury cases.  He later opened a private practice. 

Mr. Funk is a former president of the Seattle Junior Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Bellevue Planning Commission.  For over ten years he acted as head of the King County Bar Association's Eastside free clinic, spending many evenings devoted to providing free legal advice to those most in need.
